“Communication and Collaboration in the Classroom”
SHADOWING PROJECT WORKDAY
By now you should have your write-up ready. I read some of your write-ups, and found some of you wrote about how teachers use technology to share their ideas. I know that is also part of communication, but remember that I would like you to shadow how teachers use technology to support C&C in learning. Think about the “Geography Mystery” from Egbert Chapter 3. Find blogs and find such learning examples. I will accept communication with parents. But try to include at least one student learning.
As you may note, NETS Standard for Communication and Collaboration states:
Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. Students:
a. interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.
b. communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.
c. develop cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with learners of other cultures.
d. contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.
I have a self-check here for you to complete so you can double-check how close you are to “getting it right.” Download the form as a Word doc. Complete it and e-mail the completed form to me today.
1. Download and complete the self-check regarding your shadowing project and turn it in (by e-mail).
2. As we talked on Friday, do something creative. Create a blog posting on what you did. You will get a LATE PASS for your creative endeavor.
